Sugababe Heidi Range takes inspiration from X Factor's Rebecca for her red carpet gown

By Sarah Bull and Georgina Littlejohn

Taking inspiration: Rebecca Ferguson in her Mango maxi dress on the X Factor last month, the same one Sugababe Heidi Range wore last night

It 's normally the young pop wannabes copying their music idol's fashion sense.
But even the rich and famous can take inspiration from their fans, as Heidi Range proved last night.

The Sugababe arrived at an awards ceremony in London last night in the exact same Mango maxi dress that X Factor finalist Rebecca Ferguson wore a month ago on the ITV talent show.

And the 27-year-old pop star looked just as stunning in the long black, silver and lace gown as the 24-year-old X Factor star, who wore the dress to sing Womack and Womack's Teardrops on the first live show.

Coincidentally, both Heidi and Rebecca are from Liverpool, and Heidi is also self-confessed X Factor fan who has taken to her Twitter page to show her support for the finalists and comment on the show.

IWhen the judges were deciding which acts to take though to the live shows, Heidi wrote: 'Just watching X Factor, come on Rebecca from Liverpool!'

And while she has been supportive of all the acts, she has shown her Scouse solidarity and tweeted a couple of times about Rebecca.

Date night: Heidi Range took a night off wedding planning to enjoy a night out with fiancé Dave Berry

What a glamorous pair! Heidi looked stunning in a Mango maxi dress while Berry looked smart in an all-black suit

Last night though, she was concentrating solely on having a night out with her fiancé Dave Berry.

The evening out at the 20th Annual Drapers Awards at Grosvenor House in London is likely to come as a welcome break from wedding planning for Heidi, who recently revealed she is hoping to have a winter ceremony in 2011 after Berry proposed to her on New Year's Eve.

She said earlier this year: 'I'm obsessed already. All I've done is look on the internet at wedding sites.

'As soon as we got engaged, the next day I had to go into WHSmith at the airport and buy a bridal magazine. I was on the plane looking really obvious.'

Rare appearance: Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton made a rare red carpet appearance together at the Draper Awards

Happy couple: Brendan Cole and his wife Zoe pose for photographers at the event

Heidi also described presenter Berry's proposal as a 'complete surprise', adding: 'He surprised me on New Year's Eve 2009 in Barbados.

'I was hoping that he might ask me sometime soon but I never thought it'd be on New Year's Eve. I'm so excited. I was crying and shaking.'

Maybe Heidi and Berry could pick up some wedding planning tips from Strictly Come Dancing's Brendan Cole and wife Zoe Cole Hobbs who were also at the awards.

Quirky style: Fearne Cotton wore a sheer pink shirt with black bowtie

Former Oasis star Liam Gallagher and his wife Nicole Appleton also made a rare red carpet appearance together at the event.

In fact, the evening was something of a date night for some of Britain's most famous celebrities.

But one person who went solo on the red carpet was Fearne Cotton, who went for a quirky look in a sheer pink shirt teamed with black trousers and a bowtie.

Leggy: Capital FM DJ Lisa Snowdon pulled her LBD off with aplomb

Fearne, who recently got engaged to boyfriend Jesse Jenkins, recently spoke about her best friend Holly Willoughby's news that she is expecting another baby.

She said: 'Holly will be able to cope with two under two, no problem. She is superwoman.

'All my friends seem to be having babies. I’m going to be 30 next year so maybe I should actually start thinking about it too.'

Also at the event was model-turned-DJ Lisa Snowdon, who showed off her figure in a curve-hugging black minidress.
