'They're still in love': Danni Minogue and Kris Smith to 'get back together' after singer snubs X Factor

Dannii Minogue has turned down X Factor because she is close to getting back together with Kris Smith.

The mother-of-one was expected to return to the hit show - but pulled out at the last minute.

Many thought the Simon Cowell affair revelations were to blame but pals of the pair have revealed Danni has chosen her family over fame.

Friends close to the star said Dannii, 40, is still in love with model Kris, 33, and is willing to sacrifice her career to get back together.

A friend told The Daily Star Sunday: 'Dannii and Kris are working on the relationship in the hope of getting back together.

'They have both acknowledged they still love each other but know they have a lot of work to do before being one happy family again.

'Dannii is committed to putting her family first. Since becoming a mum her priorities have changed.'

Dannii and Kris met on holiday in Ibiza in August 2008 where the male model was celebrating his 30th birthday.

Dannii, 40, and Kris confirmed speculation they had split in simultaneous announcements on their Twitter pages on April 4.

Speaking after the split Kris admitted how hard it's been for them.

Appearing on Australian breakfast show The Circle, he said: 'It's a struggle, but you know we're the best of friends and we have a massive mutual respect for one another.
