Return of the derriere: Another wedding, another dress, but this time Pippa makes a fashion faux-pas

Since appearing in THAT dress at her sister’s wedding, Pippa Middleton has been hailed as a global style icon.

But she made a rare fashion faux-pas at a friend’s wedding yesterday, when she turned up in vivid green - a colour traditionally associated with bad luck at marriage ceremonies.

Still, the elegant below-the-knee silky dress certainly showed off the 27-year-old’s enviable assets, and was topped with an elegant black feather fascinator.

Ignoring the old adage ‘weddings and green should never be seen’ was not Pippa’s only fashion fault, however, as she also wore cross-strapped suede high-heels - and the aristocratic set consider heels unsightly at weddings. Only kitten-heeled shoes are deemed acceptable in the country.

Pippa was at St Oswald’s Church in Lythe, near Whitby, North Yorkshire, for the wedding of her old friend from Edinburgh University, Humphrey Bowles, to bride Hattie Dawson.

Pippa attended without her boyfriend of two years, Alex Loudon, a 30-year-old financier, arriving instead with her mother Carole, 56, her father Michael, 50, and 23-year-old brother James.

A source said: ‘The Middleton family were placed on the top table to “preserve their privacy”, but there were whispers that this privilege had been requested rather than granted because Carole is not really that close to the couple.’

It was the fifth wedding Pippa has attended this year, including her starring role at her sister Kate’s Westminster Abbey ceremony in April.

Last week she attended the wedding of friends Rose Laing and Jake French, in Perthshire; in June she accompanied her sister to the wedding of amateur jockey Sam Waley-Cohen and Bella Ballin; and in February she went to the wedding of Patrick Valentine and Lady Katie Percy, the sister of Prince William’s friend George Percy.

Pippa Middleton supports her boyfriend's cricketing efforts but he fails to score a victory

Once again Pippa Middleton has been supporting her boyfriend's sporting pursuits.

Despite claims that her relationship with 30-year-old banker Alex Loudon was on the rocks she looked at ease as she watched the former England cricketer in action.

Armed with a picnic hamper and Waitrose goods Pippa, 27, bagged herself a prime spot on the field talking to players and waiting to greet her boyfriend with a loving embrace post-match.

As temperatures topped 21 Celsius Pippa opted for a red hot polka-dot dress - almost identical to the one she wore to Wimbledon this June from the Hobbs NW3 range.

Quashing any rumours of her single status she openly displayed her affections even grabbing a quick kiss during the match. She has been dating Alex for over a year but reports earlier this year revealed that their relationship had ended.

Eton-educated Alex, who previously played for England now captains his school team the Eton Ramblers. Last month Pippa was among the small gathering of devotees who turned up to watch Eton Ramblers, as they beat the Old Eastbournians in the Cricketers Cup, making it to the final round.

Today the Eton Ramblers battled against the Old Malvernians in the finals of the Cricketer Cup at the London Shenley Club in Hertfordshire, but despite Alex's efforts to lead his team to victory the Old Malvernians secured a comfortable win by four wickets.

The Ramblers have won the competition twice - a 50-overs knock-out competition for the Old Boys of 32 schools - in 1992 and 2001.

The match started at 11am with a 2pm break for lunch where players were treated to a lunch of poached salmon, accompanied with new potatoes and carrots followed by chocolate mousse and apple crumble. Proceedings came to an end shortly after 6pm.

In 2007 Alex announced his retirement from cricket to pursue a business career enrolling in a Masters In Finance programme at the London Business School the following year.

Pippa, an English Literature graduate shot to stardom when she was the maid of honour at her sister Catherine's wedding to Prince William wearing in a figure-hugging Alexander McQueen gown.

Last week surgeons in the U.S. revealed that her appearance had sparked a wave of surgery requests, with women eager to achieve a similarly pert derriere, requesting what has been termed as the 'Pippa Butt Lift'.

When Pippa Middleton made a late-night visit to her former flatmate and close friend George Percy last week, it prompted a flurry of speculation that the brunette had split from her long-term boyfriend Alex Loudon.

But far from being over, her romance with Alex, a talented cricketer and financier, is very much on, The Mail on Sunday has been reliably informed.

Speculation over a split reached fever pitch last weekend when Pippa attended a wedding without Alex and was spotted enjoying a dinner with George, her former flatmate at Edinburgh University.


They returned to George’s London house and, after hugging each other goodnight, Pippa was seen leaving shortly after 2am.

Former Etonian Alex, 30, who has not been photographed with Pippa since April’s Royal Wedding, has declined to comment, but a family member said: ‘All the rumours are completely untrue.’

They said the couple, who have been dating for nearly a year, are expected at a family engagement together in a fortnight’s time.

But a university contemporary said: ‘Pippa and George are friends, but that is all. Pippa doesn’t fancy George, she’s very into Alex.

‘Alex is the nicest chap you could meet. He’s incredibly sweet, loyal and adores Pippa, but they make a point of seeing each other very privately and don’t go to flash places.’

But things are very different these days - her former boyfriends are waiting on her.

The 27-year-old is enjoying a well-earned break in Spain with a gaggle of girlfriends, and old flame George Percy.

Yesterday, the 26-year-old Mr Percy came in handy on a boat trip in Retiro Park, Madrid's largest park.

No one had to lift a finger as the son of the Duke of Northumberland - one of Britain's richest men - showed off his rowing skills.

It marked a sedate moments in what appears to have been quite a lively trip.

Earlier Miss Middleton had dressed in a smart beige skirt, black jacket and heels, and partied until 4am at a swanky bar, The Penthouse.

On Friday night the group spent the evening at the city's exclusive Fortuna nightclub - Miss Middleton carrying a bottle of champagne in her red bag.

And if it was a heavy night, Pippa wasn’t going to let it show, emerging on Saturday morning sporting dark sunglasses and wearing a strapless black-and-white spotted sundress as she led her friends on a shopping and sightseeing trip, tourist map in hand.

After a few hours on their feet the group stopped at a cafe for a glass of wine. Pippa was spotted stifling a laugh as she gave her approval to photographs taken on a friend’s camera.

Miss Middleton and Mr Percy dated while at Edinburgh University and have been friends for nearly ten years.

It is understood Miss Middleton left her City trader boyfriend Alex Loudon at home.

But the City trader was nowhere to be seen when 27-year-old Pippa flew to Madrid for a weekend away with the girls... and her ex.

She was relaxed and happy in the company of old flame George Percy, the 26-year-old son of the Duke of Northumberland, one of Britain’s richest men.

They dated while at Edinburgh University, where they were also flatmates, and have been friends for nearly ten years.

George helped Pippa with her luggage, pushing their trolley through Madrid airport on Friday, before heading to a hotel.

They emerged with friends at dusk, with Pippa carrying a bottle of champagne in a red bag, and headed to nearby Fortuna nightclub, one of Madrid’s most exclusive.

Embarrassment for Pippa Middleton days after Royal Wedding as U.S. websites print private underwear pictures

As maid of honour for her older sister Kate Middleton as she became Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Pippa Middleton became celebrated the world over after almost stealing the show last week with THAT dress.

But today, she is discovering the downside of that sudden fame after a host of websites in the U.S. got hold of some private pictures of the 27-year-old in her underwear - and published them.

At least seven U.S. websites are running the photos showing Ms Middleton stripped to a purple push up bra and flimsy white slip with an half-naked unknown companion doing a 'bump and grind' dance behind her.


Despite being offered the picture for use, the Daily Mail has decided not to print them picture and preserve Pippa's privacy and modesty.

After her appearance at the Royal Wedding last Friday, there's been huge interest in Pippa that she may be struggling to cope with.

Consequently, a host of other pictures documenting her party girl past have surfaced as the public appetite grows to know all about her.

Bookmakers today have even started taking bets as to ‘What will Pippa do next?’.

She is at 2/1 to appear on a Vogue cover feature, 3/1 to get married, and 7/1 to model Alexander McQueen, the fashion house that made her sister Kate’s wedding dress and her stunning maid of honour frock on the catwalk.

She also has odds of 40/1 to marry Prince Harry, and 66/1 to become a Dame.

Meanwhile, her backside has emerged as the 4-6 hot favourite to win Rear of the Year.

Pippa has been working as an event and party organiser since graduating from the University Of Edinburgh in 2007- where most of her partying took place, like a typical student.

Now, she is very much the refined socialite and is currently apparently engaged in all but name to her City broker boyfriend Alex Loudon.

The Daily Mail revealed earlier this week that the couple have stayed silent about the future of their relationship for fear of detracting attention from Prince William and Kate.
