Stunt doubles need not apply: Daredevil Angelina Jolie takes to the skies as she continues shooting Maleficent

By Sarah Bull

She revealed her passion for doing her own stunts when she starred as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider.

And it seems that Angelina Jolie certainly hasn't lost her love of adrenaline-seeking, judging by pictures of the star on the set of new Disney movie Maleficent today.

The 37-year-old actress was seen wired up to a crane as she took to the skies to shoot some high-octane scenes for the movie.

No stunt double needed! Angelina Jolie has no qualms performing her own stunts, as she showed on the set of new Disney movie Maleficent today

Wearing her horned headdress, complete with prosthetic cheekbones and a long brown dress and matching cape, Angelina looked calm and confident as she was lifted up into the air by the crane, which was attached to her around the waist.

Angelina, who is shooting the new movie in Buckinghamshire, stars as the title character - the evil Maleficent - in the film, a real-life version of the Disney cartoon Sleeping Beauty.

And it seems Angelina has no qualms about shooting the stunts herself - even getting excited about the prospect.

Giving it her all: Angelina showed off her fancy footwork as she threw herself into the role, quite literally

Careful! Angelina flew through the air as her movements were captured by the waiting cameras

Tomb Raider stunt coordinator Simon Crane said in a previous interview that Angelina was one of the most competent actresses he has ever worked with in terms of the stunts she performs.

He said: 'I would rate Angelina very highly against all of the action actors I have worked with. We've done a couple of sequences that involve stunts you won't have seen a woman do before, and basically she is doing almost all of these stunts herself.

'We did a bungee-jumping sequence, and she went through three months' training to be able to do it. She's just done all these somersaults for another sequence. I was very impressed.'

Walking in the air: Angelina managed to still look as graceful as ever as she performed the stunt

Daredevil: The actress is famous for her love of performing her own stunts, and it seems this movie is no exception

Flying high: The actress was secured to the crane with a blue bar around her waist

The focus of the film centres on the events that hardened Maleficent's heart, leading her to curse the baby Aurora who will be played by Elle Fanning.

Speaking about her new film Angelina told EW: 'It’s not anti-princess, but it’s the first time they’re looking at this epic woman.

'I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn’t mean she can’t have other [warmer] qualities'

Careful! A host of crew members surrounded the crane as Angelina began shooting the scenes

Loving it: Angelina was seen looking in good spirits ahead of shooting the scenes

Ready for your close-up? A woman dressed in the same clothes as Angelina but without the harns and headdress was also seen on the set

She said: 'It sounds really crazy to say that there will be something that’s good for young girls in this, because it sounds like you’re saying they should be a villain. [Maleficent] is actually a great person. But she’s not perfect. She’s far from perfect.'

'In general, it’s a very good message to say, “Let’s look at something from the other side.” But then also, what our challenge will be - and the script writer [The Lion King and Alice in Wonderland’s Linda Woolverton] has already cracked it - is not to simplify it, not to just reverse the story but tell a bigger story that doesn’t point the finger [at Princess Aurora] either.'

The film will be directed by Robert Stromberg and is set for release on March 14, 2014.

Ready for war: An army of men on soldiers were also seen on the set of the movie shooting a battle scene in a nearby field

Brangelina wedding photos? Hollywood's golden couple tie the knot in pictures the paparazzi can only dream of (courtesy of Alison Jackson)

By Stephanie Hirschmiller

Those pesky paparazzi get everywhere! And as these aerial pictures prove, no celebrity is safe from press intrusion.

Even if you happen to be one of the hottest power couples in the world.

But wait, surely there's something awry - not least because the wedding in question hasn't actually happened yet.

Artist Alison Jackson has reimagined the impending nuptials of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie where the roles of the couple are played by actors

No, things are not quite as they appear.

What seems, at first glace, to be the ultimate paparazzi scoop, is actually an elaborate set-up by maverick artist Alison Jackson.

Jackson is known for her reimaginings of iconic events in which actors play the leading roles.

Last minute preening and preparations away from prying eyes. Or so they think...

Her most notable coup to date was perhaps a 300-image spoof take on the wedding of Prince William and The Duchess of Cambridge.

And now the artist has turned her camera on the impending marriage of Hollywood couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The bride looks ravishing in ivory - 'is it Armani Prive or is it vintage' - we find ourselves wondering as Jackson's lens follows her lookalikes from their hotel suite to the car to the outdoor ceremony itself.

One thing is for sure though. As any magazine deal surrounding the real photographs is likely to be worth about $10 million, security to protect the actual proceedings will be rather tighter than it is in Jackson's world...

Everything's perfect and Brad and Angelina are all dressed and ready for the serious business of marriage

Up close and perfect: Angelina Jolie's $250,000 engagement ring which took perfectionist Brad Pitt a year to design

Couple's private jeweller Robert Procop reveals actor commissioned diamond design

By Donna Mcconnell, Chris Johnson and Natalie Trombetta

Brad Pitt's stunning choice of engagement ring appears to perfectly reflect his feelings for the beautiful actress.

In the first close-up look at the flawless diamond ring, the love and care that went into the design - which Pitt - alongside jeweller Robert Procop - took a year to perfect - is evident.

The large square diamond wouldn't have looked out of place in Elizabeth Taylor's stunning collection of jewels.

The oblong-shaped rock is inset into a thick ribbed band.

Rock of commitment: Angelina Jolie sports the $250,000 engagement ring designed by partner Brad Pitt and jeweller Robert Procop which took 12 months

The 36-year-old actress was spotted wearing the ring on her wedding finger at the Chinese Art collection at the LA County Museum earlier this month, where she was pictured with Brad, 48, and their son Pax, eight.

Pitt designed the ring for the mother of his six children in collaboration with jeweller Robert Procop who broke the news of the engagement in a statement last Friday.

He said: 'Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realised over a year-long collaboration with Robert,' Procop’s team said in a statement.

'He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect.'

The Hollywood power couple confirmed their engagement last week in a statement - and their six children were said to be especially happy about the news.

Their spokeswoman said: 'It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time.'

It's official: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, seen here last Wednesday at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, have confirmed they are engaged

Procop said: 'Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realised over a yearlong collaboration. He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suite Angelina's hand.

He continued: 'Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution.

'The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality.'

Experts estimate the ring cost around $250,000.

Angelina's father Jon Voight was among the first to publicly congratulate the pair, telling Us Weekly: 'I'm very happy for them.'

Angelina has been married twice before - to British actor Jonny Lee Miller between 1996 and 1999 and then Billy Bob Thornton, from 2000 to 2003.

Happy family: 'Brangelina' have six children, three biological and three adopted, seen here in New Orleans in March last year. Their brood are delighted their parents are getting wed, according to a spokeswoman

Brad's marriage to Jennifer Aniston lasted five years before they announced they were divorcing in early 2005 - which came after he had met Angelina on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith.

Brangelina - as they became known - quickly became a Hollywood power couple, with a brood of six children; five-year-old Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne, aged three, along with three adopted children Maddox, 10, Pax, eight, and Zahara, seven.

The former Friends star is said to be delighted for the couple.

The actress, 43, is so happy with her own beau Justin Theroux that she is actually pleased with the situation, according to reports.

According to HollywoodLife.com a source said: 'Jennifer is happy for Brad and Angelina. She is so in love with Justin, that she is really grateful how things turned out.

'In a strange way if it weren’t for Angelina, Jennifer would not have connected with Justin in a romantic way. Jennifer is in a really wonderful place right now.'

The wedding is on: Angelina and Brad have not yet set a date for their wedding but they are building a chapel on their property in France

The couple once insisted they wouldn't wed until the legalisation of same-sex marriage in America.

But Brad recently admitted he didn't feel they'd be to wait that long because of mounting pressure from their children.

'It seems to mean more and more to our kids,' he said in January.

'We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to [get married] till everyone can. But I don't think we'll be able to hold out … it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment.'

She said just months ago: 'We've explained to them that our commitment, when we decided to start a family, was the greatest commitment you could possibly have.

'Once you have six children, you're committed.'

Their high-profile romance has made headlines since sparks first flew on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith back in 2004.

There was intense speculation they started up a relationship while Brad was still with his then-wife Jennifer Aniston.

Brad and Jen announced they were divorcing in early 2005 - but it wasn't until early 2006 that Angelina and Brad acknowledged their relationship when the actress revealed she was pregnant.

In October 2008, Angelina told The New York Times that her children loved Mr & Mrs Smith because: 'Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love.'

But she has explained: 'To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn't be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife.'

Covered up, are we? Angelina Jolie refrains from flashing some leg on the red-carpet by slipping into a trouser suit

By Laura Schreffler

All covered up, are we? Angelina Jolie refuses to flash any leg at the Women in the World Summit in NYC tonight

Her right leg became one of the highlights of this year's Oscar ceremony, but Angelina Jolie seems to be keeping her excellent extremity under wraps.

The stunning star stepped out to the 3rd annual Women in the World Summit tonight in New York City wearing a pair of trousers.

There was not a hint of leg for those hoping to catch a glimpse of the limb she flashed so often at the Academy Awards.

Scroll down for video

In fact, the 36-year-old made sure her look was pared down and the opposite of flashy.

In addition to her flattering slimline bottoms, Angelina slipped on a cream satin shirt underneath a white blazer.

The only spots of colour in her ensemble were in her beauty choices.

She chose this season's 'It' colour of tangerine on her lips, and painted her toes a dark red.

Elegant style: The 36-year-old actress covered up her perfect pins in black trousers tonight

According to a new report, there's a reason she may have opted for a more simple look.

She is said to be horrified by the ill attention her headline making Versace Academy Award dress received.

A source told Closer magazine that: 'Angelina is horrified at the reaction her Oscars dress received.

You put your right leg out: Angelina's headline-making Versace Academy Awards dress and leg

'She pays her stylist Jen a lot of money to pick things that will her look drop-dead gorgeous, but she felt the dress swallowed her up and she had to stick her leg out, or it looked like she was wearing a bin bag.

'Now she's being laughed at when she's worked so hard on her look. She feels like a joke and is worried her reputation may have taken a hit.'

Needless to say she has nothing to be worried when it comes to partner Brad PItt's opinion of her; the Oscar nominee has often enthused about how beautiful his lady love is.

Meanwhile it is rumoured that Angelina will star in the new upcoming Disney film Maleficent.

The actress expressed her desire to be in the film whilst promoting her directorial In The Land Of Blood and Honey in Berlin.

Dakota Fanning's sister Elle, 13, is also said to be in talks with Disney to play the role of Princess Aurora, according to Deadline.

Fast food fightback! Angelina Jolie hits back at criticism of her shrinking frame by pulling up to a McDonald's drive through

By Daily Mail Reporter

Fast food nation: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt order some food from the McDonalds drive-through earlier today

Just yesterday, Dr Drew Pinksy labelled her ever-shrinking frame as looking 'dangerously malnourished,' during a TV appearance.

But today, Angelina Jolie perhaps went some way into proving her critics wrong by pulling up to a Hollywood McDonald's today for some fast food.

The star sat in the passenger seat alongside partner Brad Pitt as they ordered several bags of food from the drive-through.

The celebrity couple had twins Vivienne and Knox in the back of the car.

However, despite Angelina helping Brad order several bags of food, there was no actual photographic evidence of her tucking into a burger herself.

Dr Drew Pinksy appeared on U.S. show The View yesterday where he discussed the now infamous photograph of a slim Angelina Jolie baring her right leg in a black Versace gown at the Oscars last weekend.

As the picture was flashed up on a screen behind him, he warned that women should not regard the actress as an ideal of beauty on account of her remarkably skinny figure.

'She's malnourished,' he claimed, before reiterating: 'I just see malnutrition.

Take out: Angeliana, wearing sunglasses, chipped in to help Brad do the ordering at the Hollywood joint

Feeding time: The celebrity couple hit the fast food joint, just 24 hours after Dr Drew labelled pictures of Angelina as looking 'malnourished'

'We should not look at that as an ideal of beauty, even though she might be a beautiful woman,' he added.

His comments came after he expressed the same verdict on her 'dangerously' skinny frame during his own, self-titled show earlier in the week.

Fox presenter Bill O’Reilly is another who has weighed in on the matter.

'Is it just me or is she looking mighty slim these days? Emaciated even? I was kind of taken aback. Look at the arms on her,' he said on The O’Reilly Factor the day after the Oscars.

The golden arches: The couple made the trip to the popular restaurant from their Hollywood home

Back in November Grazia magazine reported Angelina survives on as little as 600 calories a day, which is the equivalent of two bowls of cereal with milk.

Angelina's displayed her skinny arms in the sleeveless black dress

'Angelina has been known to start her day with little more than a spoonful of coconut oil and a handful of cereal,' a source told the publication.

'The worrying thing is that she is so busy, she often forgets to eat. Sometimes she'll skip lunch altogether or will just grab a few almonds and some gummy bears while she's on the go, or will have a protein-based shake rather than anything more substantial.'

Claims: Dr Drew said he thought Angelina looked 'malnourished' during an appearance on The View yesterday

Angelina's fluctuating weight has been well documented, with her slim frame becoming painfully thin during difficult emotional times in her life.

The actress was forced to defend her waif-like frame in 2007, when her weight plummeted following the death of her mother Marcheline.

At the time, she said: 'I have always been lean, and this year I lost my mum and I've gone through a lot.

'Instead of people saying I look like a person dealing with something emotionally, they assume it's because I want to fit into skinny jeans.'

Meanwhile, in a new interview, Angelina discusses how she used to be the tougher parent to she and Brad's six children and mentions how Brad and their ten-year-old son Maddox share a special bond.

She told British OK magazine: 'I used to be the tougher parent but since the birth of the twins, Brad's had to play bad cop more often.

'It also depends on which of the children we are talking about. Brad has always had this incredible bond with Mad, who's very smart, and Brad loves teaching him about history and art and culture – it's an amazing thing to watch them together.

'I think I'm a little closer to the girls, maybe, but he's always making them laugh. The children are usually very well-behaved though.'

And the award for best breakout star goes to... Angie's right leg: Miss Jolie's lithe limb attracts attention, mocking and 10,000 Twitter followers

By Andrea Magrath

Whole lotta leg: Angelina Jolie flashes more than a peek of her pin as she walks the red carpet at the 84th Academy awards in Hollywood last night

She has faced some criticism in recent weeks over her dull taste in red carpet attire during the promotional tour for her film In The Land Of Blood And Honey, choosing matronly gowns and drab colour tones over her previously sexed-up image.

But Angelina Jolie enjoyed a return to her old cheeky, provocative self last night at the Oscars, flashing acres of long, lithe leg in a daring thigh-high slit gown.

The actress' apparent determination to show off her enviable limb attracted the desired attention from fans, fellow guests and television viewers - but not all of it was positive.

While the 36-year-old sashayed down the red carpet before the ceremony, stealing the spotlight from Best Actor nominee Brad Pitt with her leg-baring antics, social networking sites were quickly heating up with thousands of comments about 'Angie's right leg.'

As she posed at different points along the red carpet the actress was captured continuously adjusting her Atelier Versace gown to ensure the cameras caught the leg from every angle.

The limb in question quickly became a trending topic on Twitter, with users debating over her enviably trim thigh, the slightly awkward and over-enthusiastic pose, and joking about the emphasis on her right leg in particular.

Darling, isn't my right leg wonderful? Angelina posed up a storm in her black velvet Atelier Versace gown with Brad Pitt by her side

From every angle: The actress was seen constantly adjusting her dress as she posed on the red carpet to ensure photographers captured her thigh-high slit, and even seemed reluctant to cease posing as Brad dragged her away (right)

'Rainman would have no problem counting Angelia Jolie's leg,' one Twitter user joked, while another added: 'Fun fact: Angelina Jolie only shaved her right leg tonight.'

It wasn't long before a parody Twitter account called 'Angie's Right Leg' had been set up, declaring, 'I'm a leg, get a load of me!' and 'You have to admit I'm one hell of a leg!'

So far the account has attracted over 10,000 followers.

You thought it was over... guess again! The Salt star continued her evening of flashing the flesh onstage as she presented an award for Best Adapted Screenplay

And if fans thought they had seen the last of the limb when the awards ceremony commenced, they were certainly wrong.

Perhaps already informed of the hoopla by her people, or simply enjoying the attention, the actress continued to pose up a storm when she took to the stage to present an award.

Walking onstage to present the gong for Best Adapted Screenplay, Angelina stopped at the microphone for several seconds with her hand on her hip and that leg on full display again.

Lapping up the attention: Ange remained in her pose for several seconds as she enjoyed wolf whistles and cheers from the audience

With wolf whistles and cheering from the audience, Jolie giggled at the reaction before continuing with the presentation.

But not everybody was as taken with Angelina. The screenwriters for The Descendants, who won the award, were quick to mock her as they accepted the award.

While Alexander Payne, who also directed and produced the film, made his speech, fellow screenwriters Nat Faxon and Jim Rash mimicked Jolie's pose in an exaggerated fashion, drawing laughs from the audience.

How do we look? Winners of the category, Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash of The Descendants were quick to mock the presenter's antics as they accepted their award

'I'm one hell of a leg': A parody Twitter account quickly surfaced and has so far attracted over 10,000 followers

This morning, Angelina's father Jon Voight defended her antics during an appearance on Daybreak in the UK.

Asked what he thought of her posing, the actor said: 'She comes out and does this pose and waits until people get it, it was so great. The audience responded so wonderfully too, with whistles and everything.

'And then she laughed and took it in and went on with her speech. So who knows? You can never tell about these moments that pop up out of a show like this.'

After a tear filled and emotional premiere in Sarajevo, Bosnia, the world's most talented acting couple arrived in Paris today.

The French capital was left in awe as Angelina Jolie took centre stage in a wonderful dress for the French premiere of In the Land of Blood and Honey.

The 36-year-old took to the red carpet in the long white dress and even her gorgeous husband couldn't steal the limelight from her in her sophisticated outfit.

Jolie wore her hair down and kept her make-up simple with her famous full pout covered in red lipstick and a small amount of dark eyeliner highlighting her eyes.

Her Ralph & Russo dress, which was worn with Lorraine Schwartz earrings, and Jimmy Choo shoes, had a large flower creation that resembled a white rose on the left shoulder with small black stone detail lining the upper creases of the dress.

The one-shouldered creation showed off the stars flawless skin and some of her tattoos as she sashayed down the red carpet.

Her husband kept things simple in a black Gucci suit with a matching waist-coat and a white shirt.

The 48-year-old completed his stylish outfit with a pair of shaded glasses and wore his growing hair down with a centre parting.

Paris was the second stop on an international tour to promote Jolie's new film and directorial debut, after Bosnia where the movie was well received with a standing ovation.

The look of love: The debut director stared into her husband's eyes as he looked into the crowd screaming his name

An emotional Angelina fought back tears as she said: 'To share this with you means the world to me.'

In an interview after the screening she said: ''During the screening, “Brad and I sat together last night and he held my hand and I just took a deep breath and cried.'

Set against the backdrop of the Bosnian war, the film tells the story of a Bosnian Serbian soldier Danijel (Goran Kostić), who comes across former love Ajla (Zana Marjanović), a Bosniak woman who is now a captive in the military prison camp he oversees.

Wedding bells: Angelina and Brad are rumoured to be getting married in France later this year

The actress revealed her directorial experience on the movie helped her appreciate film again, after 'becoming disheartened,' with the medium.

She said: 'This film has taught me to love film again because I see what film can do and I see and I am re-inspired because I was not feeling very inspired as an actress. I was feeling very disheartened.

'I came to this film not because I wanted to be a director, I came to this film because the more I researched, the more I learned, the more angry I got.'

Round of applause: The actress was seen getting emotional at the gala earlier this week in Bosnia

Angelina said she hoped the film was a 'wake-up call' for the international community to pay more attention to atrocities and act to prevent them in countries such as Syria, where a government crackdown has killed thousands in the past year.

'I am satisfied with what we made,' she said. 'I feel very strongly about it and I believe that its core issue - which is the need for intervention and need for the world to care about atrocities when they are happening - is very, very timely and especially with things that are happening in Syria today.'

They couple may return to France later in the year after reports that they will tie the knot after being pressured into it by their children.

The power couple are said to be planning on getting married in a small and intimate ceremony at their 16th-century French chateau.
