Steely Sandra Bullock looks uncannily like Terminator star Linda Hamilton as she steps out in Texas

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Just like Linda: Sandra Bullock looked uncannily like Terminator star Linda Hamilton as she shopped in Texas this weekend

With her brown hair pulled back, aviator shades and black vest top, Sandra Bullock looked like she had just stepped out of a Terminator film.

Her studded belt and steely glare bore an uncanny resemblance to Terminator lead actress Linda Hamilton.

All that was missing was Hamilton's machine gun which she carried in the sci-fi action franchise, which famously starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Uncanny: Bullock's black vest, aviator sunglasses and tied back hair resembled Hamilton's (right) appearance in the Terminator franchise

The 47-year-old actress added a pair of un-Terminator-like green cropped trousers and ballet pumps to the outfit while shopping near her home of Austin Texas at the weekend.

She was without her adorable 19-month-old adopted son Louis as she ran errands in the town.

Despite her resemblance to Hamilton, Bullock's current fortunes are currently very different to the 1980s star.

Career high: Sandra Bullock's career has hit new heights in recent years, while Hamilton's has petered out a little

While Bullock's career has gone from strength to strength - last year winning an Oscar for The Blind Side - Hamilton's has petered out somewhat after the Terminator franchise.

After Terminator 2: Judgement Day proved a smash hit at the box office back in 1991, she did not appear in the sequel Terminator 3.

She went on to star in hit film Dante's Peak with Pierce Brosnan in 1997 and has had small parts in TV series Chuck and Weeds since then.

Meanwhile, Bullock will next be seen starring alongside Tom Hanks in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, a film adaptation of the Jonathan Safran Foer book.

Sandra Bullock sends $1 million for Japan

By Alan Duke, CNN

Sandra Bullock is the latest celebrity to offer aid to the people of Japan in the wake of an earthquake and tsunami

(CNN) -- Actress Sandra Bullock sent a $1 million donation to the American Red Cross this week to help with earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan, the Red Cross said Thursday.

It is the largest celebrity donation to the Red Cross to be announced since the disaster struck last Friday, although the charity may have gotten large contributions that were kept confidential at the donors' request.

"This contribution is vitally important as the Red Cross works to provide critical assistance and essential relief items in this time of urgent need for so many people in Japan," the relief organization said.

The contribution was made by the Oscar-winning actress on behalf of her family, the Red Cross said.

Dozens of celebrities used their social network accounts, including Twitter, to urge fans to support the Red Cross with small donations. The group has received $2.6 million since last Friday in $10 donations sent through cell phone text messages, it said.

Overall, the American Red Cross has raised about $47 million in the United States since the earthquake and tsunami struck Japan last Friday.

The U.S. organization has passed $10 million of those donations on to the Japanese Red Cross for work on the ground in Japan, it said.
