A fresh-faced Sarah Jessica Parker perfects the art of minimal make-up with a small splash of colour

By Georgina Littlejohn

She's always snapped dashing around New York with her twins looking fresh-faced, not having time to even brush on some mascara.

But today Sarah Jessica Parker must have had a bit more time on her hands as she left her home with some make-up on.

However, she has clearly managed to perfect the art of making it look minimal as you really had to look closely to notice that she was wearing any at all.

Not so fresh-faced: Sarah Jessica Parker managed to pull off the art of minimal make-up as she left her New York home

The actress, 47, was seen leaving her apartment in Manhattan in very casual attire, wearing jeans and a plain grey long-sleeved top.

But she had made an effort with her face as a splash of grey/blue eyeshadow could be seen on her lids and a smudge of pink blush on her cheeks.

It wasn't clear where she was going but there was a car waiting for her suggesting she was off to do some work.

Casual: Despite her dressed-down look, SJP's eyeshadow could be seen on her pretty blue peepers

She's certainly looking good for her age, having turned 47 this week.

But recently she admitted to Elle magazine that she is noticing changes due to her advancing years more than ever.

She said: 'I don't know what I can do about the aging. Yes, I am aging.

Splash of colour: A hint of blush could be seen on Sarah's face as she left her home

In a rush: SJP looked miles away as she headed to a waiting car

'Oh my God, I'm aging all the time. It's like those flowers that wilt in front of you in time-lapse films.

'But what can I possibly do? Look like a lunatic?'

'I'm a realist about what I look like': Sarah Jessica Parker on how her insecurities are more than just skin deep

By Maysa Rawi

Woman in black: Sarah Jessica Parker opts for billowing in the city at the 34th Kennedy Center Honors in Washington last night

Sarah Jessica Parker has in the past admitted she finds negative comments about her physical appearance 'hurtful.'

But these days the busy mother-of-three considers worrying about her looks a 'wonderful problem'.

The 46-year-old now claims she feels more insecure about her career and family life than being considered attractive.

Rare night out: The actress admits finding time to spend with husband of 14 years Matthew Broderick isn't always easy with three children

She told Stella magazine: 'I try to dress appropriately for my age and I’m a realist about what I look like.

'But if those physical things were my insecurities I’d be thrilled. What wonderful problems.

'My insecurities are more substantial than that. I worry first and foremost about my children and their health. My husband, and his. I worry about what work opportunities will come up.'

Up-do: Parker opts for a dramatic hair style and make-up, a far cry from every day when she prefers a low-key look that 'won't embarrass her son'

Botox free: Parker has never gone under the knife, or had injections or fillers, preferring the natural look

And rather than pander to public opinion - she was voted unsexiest woman alive by Maxim magazine - SJP refreshingly eschews any kind of cosmetic surgery, even injections and fillers.

She said:'There are women who feel that Botox is necessary, but more and more I don’t think it is important for the industry.'

The actress, who attended the 34th Kennedy Center Honors in Washington with Mathew Broderick last night, also admits finding the time to work on her relationship isn't always easy with three children to look after.

But despite hanging up her Carrie Bradshaw (Manolo Blahnik) shoes, the star still managed to look the picture of glamour in a long black dress and dramatic up-do.

The couple jetted home hours after the event as SJP just about managed to swap her voluminous outfit for more comfortable attire - but didn't have the time to change her hair and make-up or even remove her jewelry.

She said: 'Kids can really distract you from your relationship.
'Maybe in good ways and bad ways.

'It’s important to have all eyes on all parts of the relationship.'

The Sex and the City star had twin girls with the help of a surrogate after trying to get pregnant naturally.

She said: 'We tried and tried and tried but it just wasn’t meant to be in the conventional way’.

Her children, James, 10, Tabitha and Marion, three, keep her so busy her wardrobe is a far cry from her Sex and the City days.

She says: 'I wear anything I can put on quickly and not embarrass my son in’.

Carrie Bradshaw fans will be disappointed.

Back to the day job: The actress barely has time to take her make-up off as she heads home after the event

Study in the City! Sarah Jessica Parker's adorable daughters enjoy first day at pre-school

By Anita Bennett

Little learner: Sarah Jessica Parker's daughter Marion carried a file folder and papers home from day care today in New York City

From the looks of things, Sarah Jessica Parker's daughter Marion is eager to get on with her education.

The adorable two-year-old toted a file folder and papers today in Manhattan as her mother carried her home from day care.

Dressed in a black leggings, a little blue sweater, blue shoes and a turquoise flowered clip in her hair, Marion eagerly held onto the papers and appeared focused on the task at hand.

Sarah was dressed down for the outing, looking casual and comfortable.

The mother-of-three wore a pair of light blue jeans paired with a loose fitting tan coloured top and flat shoes, as she carried her daughter.

A nanny, who is often photographed with the Sex and the City star brought the other twin, Tabitha, along.

Dressed down: Marion's stylish mother cut a more casual figure in jeans and a loose fitting top

Tabitha looked just as adorable in a pink sweater, a striped blue and white shirt and a pink flower carefully clipped into her hair.

Sarah, who has often spoken of how different her two girls are, recently explained to Jonathan Ross the contrasts between the toddlers.

'They are spiritually, politically, physically, emotionally, ideologically... they are very, very, very different in every day,' she explained.

Mummy's other girl: A nanny carried little Tabitha along

Doting mother: Sarah savours spending time with her two girls

'I mean they don't even looked related. When we go outside, people think they are children that have made a play-date.'

She told the talk show host that one of her girls, Tabitha, looks more like her, and Marion resembles her husband Matthew Broderick more.

The couple's twins were born by surrogate mother Michelle Ross in an Ohio hospital in June 2009.

Like mother, like daughter! Sarah Jessica Parker and her twin Marion share the same mannerisms on a rainy day out

By JADE WATKINS

Just like mom: Sarah Jessica Parker and her twin daughter Marion strike almost the exact same pose during a day out in New York today

She has said that her twin daughter Marion looks more like her husband Matthew Broderick.

But the blonde haired and blue eyed two-year-old certainly appears to have the same mannerisms of her mother.

Mother and daughter struck almost the exact same facial expression at the exact time today, on a day out in the Manhattan rain.

Rainy day: Sarah carries her other twin daughter Tabitha, and a nanny helps with Marion as they make their way through the Manhattan rain

The two girls were the splitting image of one another as they marveled at the same thing after stepping out of a chauffeured car.

Of course Parker's other twin daughter Tabitha was not far behind, as she also accompanied her sister and mother on the day out.

Also on hand was a nanny, who helped the Sex And The City star race her two girls to her private office, which is situated on the Upper West Side.

More alike: Sarah has said that he daughter Tabitha, pictured here, looks more like her

Sarah, who has frequently spoke of how different her two girls are, last week explained to Jonathan Ross the contrasts between the toddlers.

'They are spiritually, politically, physically, emotionally, ideologically... they are very, very, very different in every day,' she explained.

A case for socks and the City? Sarah Jessica Parker sports unsightly bulging veins on her feet

By Simon Cable

Lacy lady: Sarah Jessica Parker attended the New York City Ballet's gala opening night of Paul McCartney's Ocean's Kingdom on Thursday

After years of running around in stilettos, it seems Sarah Jessica Parker may now be footing the bill.

The 46-year-old actress cut a toned and youthful figure in a Stella McCartney one-shoulder lace ivory dress at a gala event in New York.

But the pronounced veins on her feet gave a rather less flattering impression.

Miss Parker’s Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw, was famous for wearing vertiginous Manolo Blahnik heels – and in 2008 the actress admitted the habit had damaged her feet.

She said: ‘I’ve basically just destroyed my feet. So they feel nothing. I have no feeling in my feet.’

The star posed alongside girlfriends Stella McCartney, Naomi Watts and Jessica Seinfield at the New York City Ballet's 2011 Fall Gala on Thursday night.

Girls night out: She posed with Stella McCartney, Naomi Watts and Jessica Seinfeld at the event

The following day Parker was caught in a downpour with her adorable twin girls Tabitha and Marion.

Parker is busy promoting her new film I Don't Know How she Does It, but has also been discussing the possibility of a third Sex and the City movie.

She said this week: 'I never gamble but there may come a point in time, not in the near future, but in a little while, where we might find a time to tell a third and maybe last story.'

Too cute: Parker was pictured out with her adorable twins Marion and Tabitha the next day, when they were caught in a downpour

She also said that she thought the Sex In The City prequel, which follows the life of Carrie Bradshaw as a teenager, was 'lovely'.

'I'm always very touched to see how Carrie affected people and she's someone who is interesting and continues to be compelling.'

'So I think it's very exciting and it's lovely.'

Sweet: Parker has discussed juggling her own work and home duties since the arrival of the daughters, just like her character in I Don't Know How She Does It

My how they've grown! Sarah Jessica Parker bonds with her lovely little ladies between work duties

By JADE WATKINS

Hands-on mother: Sarah Jessica Parker carried both her growing two-year-old twins Marion, left, and Tabitha, right, around Manhattan, today

She may be busy promoting her new movie, but Sarah Jessica Parker found time to give her adorable twins a cuddly lift today.

The 46-year-old star, who attended the premiere of her new film I Don't Know How She Does It last night, carried both her growing two-year-old girls, Marion and Tabitha, around Manhattan.

The trio were heading to an office on the Upper East Side, where the actress was getting stuck into even more work duties.

Parker went casual for her outing in a pair of fitted khaki cargo pants and a grey long-sleeved top.

Taking a break from her favourite sky-high heels, she slipped her feet into a pair of flats and carried a stylish Sonia Rykiel studded handbag.

Her two little girls could not have looked anymore different, with Tabitha wearing a checkered dress and a yellow bow in her brunette hair, and Marion pretty in a baby pink top and white leggings.

Parker, who has frequently spoke of how different her two girls are, last week explained to Jonathan Ross the contrasts between the toddlers.

Cute as a button: Marion looked pretty in a baby pink top and white leggings

'They are spiritually, politically, physically, emotionally, ideologically... they are very, very, very different in every day,' she explained.

'I mean they don't even looked related. When we go outside, people think they are children that have made a play-date.'

She told the British talk show host that one of her girls, Tabitha, looks more like her, and Marion has resembles her husband Matthew Broderick more.

'One is very olive in complexion like me and one is very see-through translucent like husband,' she said.

Helping hand: Parker lifted Tabitha up in the air as they prepared to hop into a waiting chauffeured car

'One has sweet little hooded Broderick eyes blue and one has big, like animated character, big brown eyes.'

The couple's twins were born by surrogate mother Michelle Ross in an Ohio hospital in June 2009.

The girl's day out today comes after Parker's big premiere for her new film, I Don't Know How She Does It, in New York, last night.

And while the Sex And The City star was as stylish as ever, she was somewhat overshadowed by her co-star Christina Hendricks' jaw-dropping look on the red carpet.

While Sarah kept it simple in a black maxi dress, her gravity-defying co-star, 36, easily eclipsed her as she paraded her famous assets down the red carpet.

Look over there mommy! Marion checked out the sights as girls headed to an office on the Upper East Side

The buxom Mad Men star, as always, stole the spotlight from everyone in the room in a plunging satin dress.

Parker did however look sleek in her black dress and her blonde hair in loose waves.

I Don't Know How She Does It stars Parker as Kate Reddy, a successful hedge fund manager who is the primary breadwinner for her family.

It is based on the best selling book of the same name by former Daily Mail columnist Allison Pearson.

Juggling mother: SJP also found time to walk her older son James Wilkie to school

Outshined: Parker was somewhat overshadowed by co-star Christina Hendricks' jaw-dropping look on the red carpet of their new film, I Don't Know How She Does It, last night

The film follows Reddy as she struggles to keep her life in order while trying to be a model wife, mother, employee and staying on top of her game at work with tough competition from her male counterparts.

The romantic comedy had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
It will be released in cinemas worldwide on September 16.

Late to bed and early to rise: Sarah Jessica Parker takes morning stroll with her family following Fashion's Night Out

By Emily Sheridan and Iona Kirby

Happy family: Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick took their twin daughters on an early morning stroll

She had been out late the previous evening signing shoes at Vogue's Fashion's Night Out in New York.

But Sarah Jessica Parker proved she can balance her work life and personal life by rising early to go for a walk with her husband Matthew Broderick and their two-year-old twin daughters Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge.

The family went for a morning walk around Barnard College in Manhattan, which is part of Columbia university.

Working mother: Sarah Jessica had been out late at Fashion's Night Out the previous evening

They visited some friends during the trip, and Parker appeared well rested despite her busy night.

She was dressed casually in a long-sleeved navy blue T-shirt, jeans and trainers, and hid any sign of a hangover with a pair of huge sunglasses.

She appeared to be the embodiment of the character she plays in her upcoming movie I Don't Know How She Does It, about a working mother.

Yummy mummy: The SATC star visited Barnard College in Manhattan

It's a twin thing: Sarah Jessica with Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge

The Sex and the City star looked like she was having a great time at the fashion event but was hard at work late into the night as she was promoting a range of high heels she has co-designed with show designer Manolo Blahnik.

While Parker has always insisted she is very different from her iconic character Carrie Bradshaw - there is one thing they've always had in common - a love for shoes.

And last night, the leather-clad actress celebrated her love of footwear as she teamed up with Manolo Blahnik at his store in New York.

Lovely in leather: Sarah Jessica Parker arrives for the Manolo Blahnik Fashion's Night Out event in New York in a brown leather dress

Shoes, glorious shoes: Parker signs a pair of Manolo Blahnik heels for a fashionista fan

The mother-of-three arrived at the footwear designer's Midtown Manhattan boutique in a stylish brown leather dress and white stilettos that would have made her TV alter-ego proud.

Parker was the star attraction of the event to celebrate Fashion's Night Out where she signed pairs of high-heels she co-designed with Blahnik.

As well as signing regular autographs for fans, she also got a treat when someone presented the blue pair of buckled Manolo pumps, similar to ones worn by Carrie in the first Sex And The City film when she married Mr Big in City Hall.

I remember these: Parker holds a pair of the same blue buckle Manolos worn by Carrie when she marries Mr Big in the first Sex And The City film

Proceeds of sales from last night's event went to the Fund for Public Schools - a cause close to Parker's heart.

Blahnik also arranged for a one-off Manolo milkshake truck to cruise the nearby streets selling shakes, with the proceeds also going to the same charity.

Meanwhile, Parker has been speaking about how she balances her career and motherhood while promoting her new film I Don't Know How She Does It.

Meet and greet: The actress also signed autographs for fans who didn't have the funds or desire to buy the designer shoes

She said: 'It’s complicated and it’s basically everything I ever wanted.'

It’s most difficult at the most surprising moments. You plan to be away and it’s a finite period of time and you can make sense of it and then something happens and you have to leave unexpectedly, say to go out for a work thing, that you didn’t plan and all of a sudden that’s the moment that breaks you.

'It’s surprising the things that are painful or the things that you feel the most conflict about, or these measures of guilt that show up. It’s like Jenga. It’s a house of cards.'

Drawing a crowd: Fans lined up outside the Midtown boutique for a chance to meet SJP

Shock in the city! Worried Sarah Jessica Parker halts photo shoot after man collapses in the street

By MIKE LARKIN

Shocked in the city: Sarah Jessica Parker ran out of her photo shoot after hearing a man had collapsed in the street in London today

There are many reasons why an A-list celebrity might call a halt to a photo shoot.

But there were no tantrums when Sarah Jessica Parker stormed out of her session in London today, as she was rushing to check how a man was after he collapsed.

The Sex and the City actress ran onto the street outside swanky London hotel Claridges after hearing the commotion when the unknown chap passed out.

Nosey Parker: Sarah could not drag herself away from the drama outside

The shocked star made her exit after hearing the wife of the man, who was just passing by, screaming for help.

Luckily the hotel security staff were on hand and were able to aid the gentleman.

Eventually the drama was over and the glamorous 46-year-old was able to get to business.

Sarah has been jetting around the world promoting her upcoming movie I Don't Know How She Does It.

City slicker: Sarah seemed to be having a great time in the English capital of London

And the fashion conscious actress has admitted her style icons are of English stock.

She revealed her favourites include the likes of the two Kates, Middleton and Moss.

She said she is very impressed with the way the 29-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, who is married to Prince William, and supermodel Moss, 37, dress.

The first waves club: Sarah was happy to greet fans as she got ready to leave the hotel

She said: 'So many. Ingrid Bergman & the way Kate Moss dresses & the Duchess of Cambridge.'

Sarah added that she hopes American designers will take a leaf from their British counterparts and take more risks.

Saluting the princess: Sarah has revealed the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is one of her style icons

She continued: 'British fashion is more risky but we have some emerging American designers that seem inspired in that direction.'

And Sarah certainly knows how to take a fashion risk.

She wore a dramatic Little Red Riding Hood-inspired strapless gown complete with cape for the premiere of her new comedy at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Moscow.

Not so sexy in the city: Sarah Jessica Parker's unsightly sinewy arms reveals she is taking her gym workouts too far

By Daily Mail Reporter

Flex in the city: Sarah Jessica Parker showed off her sinewy arms in New York this weekend

She was famous for being the effortlessly stylish Carrie Bradshaw in hit sitcom Sex and the City.

But Sarah Jessica Parker's famous character would no doubt have told off the actress after she showed off her sinewy arms as she jetted around the world this weekend.

The slim star wore sleeveless outfits first in her home city of New York, and then in the Russian capital Moscow.

Sarah, 46, is doubtlessly proud of her slim physique maintained through a mix of exercise and dieting.

But many will think she is taking it too far, especially after apparently dropping two dress sizes last year because of her punishing regime.

She grinned in the Big Apple as she displayed her thickly-veined, skinny arms and legs in a short two tone black dress with a drop waist as she carried her bags to her car.

An arm and a leg: Sarah's tight-fitting dress showed the results of her punishing fitness regime

And she was at it again in Moscow, wearing a revealing grey T-shirt that showed her remarkably thin biceps as she signed a local fan's chest.

She was in the European city to promote her new film I Don't Know How She Does It.

However Sarah has previously defended her appearance, saying she struggles to put weight on despite having a healthy love of food.

She said: 'I'm always trying to put weight on. I eat everything.

'I’m just an eater and I love junk food. If it’s free, I honestly eat everything.'

Last year the 5ft 3in star was said to have dropped from 7 1/2 stone to 6 1/2 stone, meaning she has a BMI of just 16.1 - considerably under the healthy range minimum of 18.5.

Filming Sex And The City in 2009, she cut a healthy size 8 (US size 4) frame, but is now thought to be a size 4 (US size 0).

At the time a friend claimed in Closer magazine: 'She's always been health conscious, but this is a whole new level.

'She's worried she's looking old and feels she needs to up her workout regime to stay healthy, but it's as though she's become obsessed.

Ready to snap: Sarah Jessica Parker gets ready to take a photograph in Moscow

I will sinew: SJP gives a Russian fan her autograph to the amusement of an onlooker

'It's normal for her to be at the gym for two hours every day as well as going for five-mile runs - and she's eating as leanly as humanly possible.'

It looks like she is falling into the same trap as pop superstar Madonna, whose muscular physique is a far cry from the sexy popstrel who one a legion of fans with hits such as Holiday and Borderline.

The singer's intensive workouts have given rise to extremely sinewy arms, along with bulging veins and biceps.

Body of evidence: Sarah had better watch out or she will end up looking like Madonna
