Peaches Geldof spills the baby but not her phone, as she scoops him up and carries on the conversation

In a crisis, Peaches Geldof is nothing if not versatile.

Having accidentally tipped her baby out of his buggy while chatting on the phone, the young mother expertly demonstrated how to scoop him back up…while carrying on the conversation.

Miss Geldof, 23, was quick to point a finger of blame for the calamity at London’s potholed pavements.

Writing about the incident on Twitter, she said four-month-old Astala wasn’t injured. She insisted he had been strapped in but it would appear he was saved mostly by the hood of his buggy.

‘It’s impossible to see these cracks when pushing a pram,’ she wrote. ‘The Mayor of London should do something about it it’s ridiculous!’

Miss Geldof married rock singer Thomas Cohen, 20, on Saturday. The pair bought a flat in East London, before Astala was born in April.

They wed in the same church where the family said goodbye to her mother Paula Yates 12 years ago.

Friends and family of the couple made their way to the picturesque St Mary Magdalene at St Lawrence Church in the village of Davington, near Faversham in Kent.

It is the second wedding for Sir Bob Geldof's daughter who wed American singer Max Drummey in Las Vegas in 2008.

The couple split in February 2009 but were not divorced until April 2011.

Many of those arriving at the wedding were seen sporting retro-inspired outfits and there were certainly a number of snappy styles on show.

On Friday Peaches posted a snap of her left hand to her Twitter page and wrote: 'Very soon my engagement ring will have a wedding band under it! SO excited- my last few days of not being a wife!!!!'

Peaches was known for being a party girl in her late teens and early twenties but has settled down in recent years.

Earlier this week the DJ enjoyed her hen party at a sushi restaurant in London but the event was an extremely timid affair with Peaches back at home before 11pm.

Peaches and Tom announced their engagement in December last year and shortly after they revealed that Peaches was expecting their first child.

Peaches' mother Paula died from a heroin overdose in 2000 leaving her and her sisters Pixie, Fifi and Tiger Lily to be brought up by Geldof.

She has left her fast-living party days behind her and swapped them for dirty nappies, sleepless nights and baby grows.

But it appears that Peaches Geldof is not missing her busy social life one bit and has fully embraced motherhood and has taken to it like a natural.

And looking every inch the hippie-chick in her loose blouse and big full floral skirt, she and her little boy became at one with nature as they enjoyed a lazy day in the park.

The TV presenter was snapped nursing her newborn son Astala in a park near her north London home this week, making the most of a warm and sunny break in the weather.

And she didn't take her eyes off him for a second as she burped him, bounced him on her knee and gave her son lots of cuddles.

She recently spoke about breastfeeding her son and said: 'I feed him myself on demand, like mum did with us. The bond I have with Astala when I'm breastfeeding is something which is so incredibly special.

She was joined in the park by musician fiancé Thomas Cohen, who also looked very comfortable in his new role as a father as he held his son close and rocked him in his arms.

They were approached by other park goers enjoying the sunshine and who fussed and cooed over the little boy.

And staying dutifully and faithfully by their side was their cute Golden Retriever puppy Parpy, who kept a watchful eye over his young master.

Peaches gave birth to Astala, hers and Thomas's first child, at the end of April and they gave him the full name of Astala Dylan Willow Cohen-Geldof - something which her famous rocker father Sir Bob could not get his head around.

Although he has been doting over his first grandchild, he was unimpressed with his moniker and said: 'Yuck! What’s he going to be called in school? Ass? Stella? It’s a girl’s name, let’s face it.'

Astala was due on April 24 - the same day as her late mother Paula Yates's birthday but he arrived six days early by emergency Caesarian section.

But Peaches said she feels like her mother is watching over her although she admitted she wished she was here to help her with the baby.

She said: 'I've felt mum's presence all the way through my pregnancy and that has been really comforting. Becoming a mum has made me feel closer to her than I have ever felt, but it's also made me miss her more than ever.

'It has been upsetting for me that she hasn't been around to guide me and advise me and share in it all. She would have been such a cool grandma.'

She only has just over seven weeks left of her pregnancy. And Peaches Geldof has finally reached the milestone that every mother-to-be faces: losing sight of her feet.

Bob Geldof's daughter, who will turn 23 next week, tweeted a picture of her fast-growing bump today, writing: 'Can now officially not see my feet! He's getting big in there...'

The rock offspring and her fiancé Thomas Cohen announced the news publicly in January, after keeping the pregnancy a secret for five months.

Peaches also revealed via her Twitter page this week that she has had a 4D scan of her firstborn, and was able to see the resemblance her son has to her and Tom.

'I've seen the most clear pics of him in the 4D ultrasound's he is SO cute!' she revealed. 'He looks like a mini hybrid of me and Tom.'

Speaking to Hello! magazine in January, Peaches recalled telling her famous father the news on Boxing Day.

‘Oh my God, he was so happy, especially as I’m having a boy,' she said. 'The poor man’s been surrounded by women up till now.’

'I knew he would be happy but I didn’t realise how over the moon he would be. He’s always been very supportive of me but he was really overwhelmed and emotional.'

Bob also dealt out some relationship advice to the young couple.‘He told us we must never break up; that we must make our child happy, get married and be together forever,' Peaches revealed.

Before she has even become a mother, Peaches has been nominated for a mother of the year award.

The model and TV presenter tweeted her delight when her name was announced as on the shortlist for the Foxy Bingo Mum of the Year Awards this week.

Peaches is nominated alongside other celebrities including Amanda Holden, TOWIE's Chloe Sims, Samantha Cameron, Holly Willoughby and Natalie Cassidy.

Peaches Geldof looked thinner than ever when she attended the Vogue Fashion's Night Out party last night.

The 22-year-old has been rapidly losing weight for months and appears to be continuing to shrink in size.

Bob Geldof's daughter wore a flimsy metallic Vivienne Westwood dress to the fashion event, which hung off her tiny frame and showed her protruding collarbone.


She also went bare-legged and displayed her twig-like limbs.

She had already received criticism for looking too thin when she posted a picture of herself wearing the same dress on her Twitter account last month.

But that did not seem to deter her from donning the dress, which clearly flaunted her jutting bones, last night.

Gaunt Peaches was spotted at the Vivienne Westwood store for the event and also took to the decks to try her hand at being a DJ.
