'I feel ridiculously naked!' Strictly Come Dancing favourite Kara Tointon dares to bare as she goes make-up free for shoot

She's been a much-loved television star for the past decade, and is currently one of the favourites to win this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

And despite admitting to 'never' going bare-faced when she goes out, Kara Tointon has made the somewhat difficult decision to go make-up free for a new photoshoot.

But the process wasn't easy for the 27-year-old actress, who revealed she felt 'ridiculously naked' as she posed for Heat magazine.

She said: 'I feel ridiculously naked. I’ve never not worn make-up, so this is a complete shock and so scary.


'I do go to the shops without make-up, but I put on a massive pair of sunglasses so you can’t see my face.

'My mum’s like, "You cannot go out without make-up – don’t be ridiculous!" '

However, despite her fears, Kara succeeds in looking both pretty and fresh-faced in the shots which see her pose with just a sheet to protect her modesty.

Kara, who is currently causing a storm alongside dance partner Artem Chigvintsev on the BBC TV talent show, also spoke about her split from her former co-star Joe Swash earlier this year, and insisted the pair are still friends.

She said: 'We’re still very close and talk a lot.

'We have a great friendship and I’m chuffed we managed to remain friends and be there for each other.

'But we draw the line at speaking about any other relationships.'

And while Kara remains single for the time being, she has been linked to her dance partner Artem after previously admitting she wouldn't say no if he asked her out.

When she is asked if she and Artem have kissed, Kara replied: 'No! He hasn’t made a move, but we’ll wait and see.'

Before she appeared on the show, it had been predicted that Kara might strike up a friendship, or perhaps more than a friendship, with fellow dancer Gavin Henson.

Asked if Gavin had ever asked her out, Kara replied: 'Oh my God. Gavin’s such a lovely guy, the most shy man I’ve ever met.

'I can’t imagine that would ever happen. Until someone asks you out, you don’t know what answer you’d give them.

'So who knows? But I’d hope it was Artem asking me out.'
