The smile that says it all! Taylor Swift and Harry Styles leave hotel moments apart after dashing in at 4am

He was clutching his wash bag and wearing the token celebrity sunglasses, while she was simply smiling as though she had a secret she wasn't willing to share.

Harry Styles and Taylor Swift emerged from the same hotel just moments apart on Wednesday morning, dotting the i and crossing the t for the rumour mill on whether they are really a couple.

The country singer, 22, was smiling to herself as she glided out of the hotel in Manhattan in a cute hat and navy jacket while her new friend Harry, 18, looked pretty pleased with himself as he left the building.

Crowds said the pair may not have left the hotel together but there were only moments between the two pushing open the lobby doors.

Both had obviously had time to preen their star looks with Harry's stylish mop pulled into perfection while Taylor didn't have a hair out of place.

Harry simply kept his boy band/rock star look sharp with jeans and a T-shirt, while Taylor looked cute in jeans and a tailored coat.

Presumably Harry and Taylor had a spare change of clothes as there was no walk of shame with both looking decidedly different from when they entered the hotel at 4am on Tuesday morning.

They had sparked rumours of a romance earlier this week after they were spotted enjoying a romantic stroll through New York's Central Park.

The singer was spotted holding hands with Harry Styles as she arrived back at her hotel with him in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

After leaving the hotel Taylor met up with some friends and went to the popular Cookshop restaurant in New York.

She looked happy as she strolled the streets in the New York sunshine and even opened her navy jacket to reveal a cute patterned jumper.

Taylor was seen talking to her pals who looked curious and must have asked her about her new friend.

Fresh from supporting him at his Madison Square Garden concert, the pair called it a night at gone 4am and looked closer than ever as they returned home for the night.

They even seem to have decided to go public with their rumoured romance as they were seen holding hands as they headed inside.

Taylor had been at the 2012 Ripple of Hope Awards on Monday evening before rushing to see Harry at the band's after party celebrating the successful concert.

She joined the other girlfriends who had been rounded up on to a tour bus to whisk them away from the screaming fans following the gig.

The rumour mill went into overdrive when X Factor host Mario Lopez revealed he saw Harry and Taylor holding hands backstage at the U.S. X Factor last month.

And on Sunday, photographic evidence of Taylor Swift and Harry Styles out together for the first time only served to fuel the rumours of a romance.

They showed the pop stars enjoying a romantic stroll through New York's Central park, hugging a friend's baby and generally playing the part of a happy couple.

Harry wore his trademark beanie over a shirt and jacket, while Taylor sported a burgundy coat over a beige sweatshirt and slim fitting jeans.

But some reports out on Sunday have shed doubt on the 'romance', with HollywoodLife.com reporting Taylor is allegedly not denying reports of their relationship 'to make her ex-boyfriend Conor Kennedy jealous.'
